A Crowned Thorn

What is the value of a thorn in our Christian journey? First, we must identify what a thorn is. According to the Dictionary one definition describes a thorn as “a source of continual annoyance or trouble”. A thorn can cause an immediate pain from its puncture or it can cause constant irritation and distress. Thorns that appear as a source of trouble are usually not welcomed companions on our daily quest. But the thorns we encounter are useful despite their irritations and disruptions. Thorns come to challenge and to strengthen your faith, your character, and your witness as a child of God. Thorns are the mechanism from which you gain more than you lose. Thorns are the pathway to reaching higher heights and deeper depths of sanctification and glory. With each thorn that attaches itself to your life, you become more and more like Christ. You become an overcomer of the thing that came to irritate or to disrupt your growth, but it, in turn, propels you into greater achievement in holy livi...

Hope To The End

Devotional titled Hope Till The End

There is a grace and a hope upon your life that can't be diminished. There is reason to believe that you are a treasure and the hope of glory. Sound too good to be true? For those who have chosen to become the children of God, they have been reborn into a plan of glory that shall be fulfilled. Meaning you are, even now, are a person of great esteem.

We live daily, carrying out what feels like mundane and meaningless tasks. Days, weeks, and months come and go and you can find yourself asking what is it all for and am I contributing anything of value to the world? Am I person of significance and influence?

The amazing news is that you are destined to be great and memorable. We are God's hope of glory, which means we will be children of great accomplishments and the pride of Him that made us. God has instilled a will and a purpose that we will achieve in this life. We may not see it as meaningful or impactful, but all that we are and all that we accomplish in this life is preparing us to graduate with honors and to be the glory of heaven.  

For in earth, we earned our degrees in holy sanctification. We lived as ambassadors of light faithfully in a world of transgression and darkness. We suffered through great tribulations and testings in order to become more Christ-like against our sin- born nature.  We are the children after God's own heart who as He suffered in His lifetime to live courageously and without blemish in a dark world. We, too, will be successful, albeit with intense struggles and pain. We will live out our purpose and darkness will not prevail. 

So keep living. Hope upon hope till you reach your expected end, knowing that the daily life in which you live is holy. Live out the mundane with the hope of knowing that in the end, you will earn your wings and graduate to heaven with honors. A person of great distinction and the apple of your father's eyes. You matter. Your daily life matters. Live on with patience and pride, knowing that you are a child of great honor and that your achievements will be recognized in great splendor. Live on with hope of this great day of celebration!
