A Crowned Thorn

What is the value of a thorn in our Christian journey? First, we must identify what a thorn is. According to the Dictionary one definition describes a thorn as “a source of continual annoyance or trouble”. A thorn can cause an immediate pain from its puncture or it can cause constant irritation and distress. Thorns that appear as a source of trouble are usually not welcomed companions on our daily quest. But the thorns we encounter are useful despite their irritations and disruptions. Thorns come to challenge and to strengthen your faith, your character, and your witness as a child of God. Thorns are the mechanism from which you gain more than you lose. Thorns are the pathway to reaching higher heights and deeper depths of sanctification and glory. With each thorn that attaches itself to your life, you become more and more like Christ. Is it time for a spiritual and emotional wellness check? What is the state of your soul? What is the condition of your heart? As you live it is imperative that you make time to examine the inner most parts of you, and if there be anything that needs to be addressed that you have the courage and the willingness to set them at the feet of the Savior.  Do you believe that He seeks to hear and to help you through all of your deepest pains and disappointments?  Open your heart today, and by faith share your heart with God so that you can begin to heal, and live fully in this present world.

As children of The Most High, we must reflect and reflect often on our walk with Him and the spirit in which we live our daily lives. It is during these times of reflection and prayer that we give our souls permission to address the issues and feelings that may be hindering us from operating in the fullness of God's love, and promises.

God is a big God. He can handle our cares, and our hurts if we are willing to bring them to Him to be heard, felt, and addressed. God does not want us to hide our emotions, but He also does not desire for us to lean on, and to live through our emotions either, for in doing so we risk living as wounded individuals, instead of, as more than conquerors through Him.

So, how are you? What does your spirit and your soul need? Have you shared them with God, for His ultimate desire is to see you well and whole? Take the time to get in touch with you, so that you can sincerely get in touch with God, to help you, and to transform you through your circumstances, so that you can live the life you desire, in spiritual and emotional wholeness.

You are precious, and all of you matters to God. Don't hide in your emotions. Don't refrain from sharing your pain with God. Go to Him for the direction and understanding needed to be the best version of you. Let God bring light and love to those dark places so that you can live and rest in the fullness of  His love and restoration. Upon doing so, you free your heart and soul to boldly declare that All Is Well With Me because I have been seen, heard, touched, taught, and transformed by the greatest love, of a dear father.

Journal Entry: I come to rest in you Lord. Wrap me in your arms and hear my deepest need. I want to see you fix the broken pieces of me, so that I can finally breath and live, whole and free. I can't wait to meet the me that is no longer bound by worry or insecurity. I'm so grateful that in you I can be made whole.

Now it's your turn to let your soul speak! Grab your journal and bring your broken pieces to God and begin to commune with Him in written form to start your journey of transformation!
