A Crowned Thorn

What is the value of a thorn in our Christian journey? First, we must identify what a thorn is. According to the Dictionary one definition describes a thorn as “a source of continual annoyance or trouble”. A thorn can cause an immediate pain from its puncture or it can cause constant irritation and distress. Thorns that appear as a source of trouble are usually not welcomed companions on our daily quest. But the thorns we encounter are useful despite their irritations and disruptions. Thorns come to challenge and to strengthen your faith, your character, and your witness as a child of God. Thorns are the mechanism from which you gain more than you lose. Thorns are the pathway to reaching higher heights and deeper depths of sanctification and glory. With each thorn that attaches itself to your life, you become more and more like Christ. You become an overcomer of the thing that came to irritate or to disrupt your growth, but it, in turn, propels you into greater achievement in holy livi...

Be Kind To Yourself You're Still Learning

As a Believer, you are precious to the kingdom. You are apart of the royal priesthood, endowed to do great works here on the earth, just like our Heavenly Father did.  Although, you do not have to do this alone. God will train you to become more like Him, and to accomplish great things within the classroom of life. God will equip and transform you, as you go about your daily living. As you live, you learn.

As a Believer,  you are enrolled in Christ University,  and God is your instructor. Every day is filled with lessons and tests God has allowed for you to experience and to master. The more you conquer,  the more Christ-like you become. Again, as you live, you begin to learn how to trust, how to engage, how to take on a kingdom mind set, how to endure, and how to thrive. 

So whatever stage of life you find yourself in, take the pressure off of yourself and kindly remind yourself that you are in the learning process and no Believer knows it all. Take each day as it comes and strive to learn and grow at the pace God has set for you. 

Challenge yourself not to look to the left or to the right, comparing yourself and your work to those around you, for you are right where you need to be. Let your light shine daily, for God is qualifying you to obtain your degree into heaven through the skills you have obtained through the classroom of life.


Journal Entry: I belong to you Lord, and as such, I am a light and a representative of you. What is so amazing is that you don't expect me to be perfect. You expect me to let my light shine, as you mold and make me through the storms and challenges of my life. I, with your help, will strive to represent you well, as I encourage myself to be patient, acknowledging that who and what I need to be will develop over time.
