A Crowned Thorn

What is the value of a thorn in our Christian journey? First, we must identify what a thorn is. According to the Dictionary one definition describes a thorn as “a source of continual annoyance or trouble”. A thorn can cause an immediate pain from its puncture or it can cause constant irritation and distress. Thorns that appear as a source of trouble are usually not welcomed companions on our daily quest. But the thorns we encounter are useful despite their irritations and disruptions. Thorns come to challenge and to strengthen your faith, your character, and your witness as a child of God. Thorns are the mechanism from which you gain more than you lose. Thorns are the pathway to reaching higher heights and deeper depths of sanctification and glory. With each thorn that attaches itself to your life, you become more and more like Christ. You become an overcomer of the thing that came to irritate or to disrupt your growth, but it, in turn, propels you into greater achievement in holy livi...

#Team Jesus




In times of crisis and turmoil people create ways of building hope and camaraderie. Today we receive many messages to remind us we are not alone and to support the many brave people who are putting their lives at risk to keep us going: the first responders, delivery drivers, grocery store workers, utility workers, and factory workers.  We see hashtags to unite us as Americans and as a global community.
Building hope and togetherness is an essential key to fighting the stronghold of fear but we as Believers in Christ look to the One in whom all of our hope, faith, and strength belongs and that is in and with Jesus Christ. What are we doing individually and as a collected body of Believers to send the message to God and to the world that we stand with Him during this unprecedented and challenging time?  How are we showing the Lord that we stand in solidarity, love, and perseverance to hold fast to Him despite not knowing when and how this crisis will end? How do we send a resounding message to the Lord that despite all and come what may we love Him and we stand with Him?  How do we show the world that He is worth standing by and standing up for?
The Lord tells us to cast all of our cares upon Him for He careth for us. Lets pour out our hearts and live with a collective commitment to pray for the state of our world and to constantly send a message to God that He is not forgotten and that He has a camaraderie among His people to remind Him often in words and deeds that He is our God and that He is worth fighting for: worth holding onto, worth claiming and putting our confidence in. Let’s be  proud to send the message to Him and the world that we are Team Jesus!
